SendThePix is back, rebuilt on Picsha AI

Since 2011, SendThePix has done one small, useful thing: a customer sends photos from their phone, gets a short code, and types it at the counter to print. Photogize retailers have used it every day for fifteen years. Today it relaunches, rebuilt from the inside out on the Picsha AI platform, and it now works with both the kiosks you already own and the new Picsha ones.

The customer's side hasn't changed. They open sendthepix.com in the browser their phone already has, add photos from the camera roll, and get a six-character code when the upload finishes. No app, no account, no cable, no memory card. The code is good for three days, and then the photos delete themselves.

What changed is everything underneath:

  • Uploads that survive a bad signal. Full-size photos over spotty mobile data used to mean a failed upload. The new SendThePix uploads resumably, so a dropped connection picks up where it left off instead of starting over.
  • Full resolution, every time. The originals come through at print quality, not a shrunk-down messaging copy.
  • Codes nobody can guess or misread. A larger random code space with the confusable characters left out, so what the customer reads off their phone is what the counter accepts.
  • Nothing to clean up. Storage expires on its own after three days, for you and for the customer.

Your existing kiosks keep working. SendThePix codes redeem on the Photogize kiosks in the field exactly as before, and in online storefronts such as PhotoCentral. There is nothing to reinstall and no change to how you print. If your customers already know sendthepix.com, they can keep using it.

And every Picsha kiosk speaks it now. When we put the Picsha storefronts on the kiosk last week, SendThePix support was the piece still to come. It's here: in kiosk mode, Picsha Prints, Retouch, Books, and Cards offer From my phone next to the card reader and USB stick, and on a Picsha Hub kiosk it's one tile alongside them. The customer types their code and the photos are there, in whichever storefront they came in to use. It's on by default for every Picsha store, and a store that doesn't want it can switch it off under Store settings in the storefront admin.

Already a Photogize retailer? SendThePix is part of your kiosk, so just point customers at sendthepix.com. Not on Photogize, or moving to a Picsha Hub kiosk? Tell us about your store and we'll get you set up.
